After two years in R&D, Lasher Sport is pleased to announce the magnesium frame Handcycle Elite. Light and fast, yet extremely rigid, this handcycle was designed for the racer and those looking to get the most out of their handcycle. With a unique dual beam aero shaped frame structure, the Handcycle Elite has negligible frame flex and a very aerodynamic underside profile. The Handcycle Elite's frame, fork, leg hangers, and all clamps are made from magnesium.
Magnesium is the lightest structural metal on the planet! By volume, magnesium is roughly 35% lighter than aluminum and 62% lighter than titanium, yet has similar strength characteristics as 6061-T6 aluminum. Magnesium is also exceptional at dampening vibrations which gives a smoother ride.
Besides utilizing magnesium for the frame, the Handcycle Elite also cuts down on weight by utilizing carbon fiber seating and titanium hardware. The Handcycle Elite comes equipped with a Spinergy Stealth handcycle wheel set custom designed for Lasher Sport with Schwalbe Ultremo-R tires. We use top-of-the-line Shimano components-- Dura-Ace Chain Ring, XTR-Shadow Derailleur, XTR RapidFire Shifters, XTR titanium cassette, SRAM Hollow Pin Chain, Avid Juicy Ultimate Carbon and magnesium hydraulic disc brake, Cane Creek parking brake and headset, and Ergo-Lite hand grips. Add it all up and you have an Impossibly Light™ and incredibly fast handcycle! To really make your handcycle one-of-a-kind, choose from over 6500 powder coat color finishes. Total weight is approximately 28 pounds for a 16" x 16" long seat frame (dependant on frame length and not including cushion- cushion weights range from 1 pound and up depending on size and material).
The Lasher Sport Handcycle Elite was also designed for use with a computer controlled indoor trainer by integrating mounting brackets into the forks. The Handcycle Elite can go from road to indoor trainer in under 5 minutes with no alterations to the handcycle. The Handcycle Elite indoor trainer is paired with the RacerMate computrainer through a first-of-it's-kind custom built roller mount and integrated brackets on the handcycle forks. The RacerMate can simulate hills up to 15% and offers true-life courses, 3D courses, or you can make your own courses using a GPS capture device on your favorite ride or make a course using the course designer computer interface. For the first time ever, training indoors and outdoors is simple and convenient.
